Nevada Special Sports
Population Served:
All special athletes in Nevada

Mission Statement:
The special athletes in Nevada compete in multiple sporting disciplines; from bowling to golf, basketball to aquatics. The equipment for these sports is usually provided by the athletes, coaches or families. In many cases there is a shortage of the proper equipment to make the sporting practices both safe and fun. Nevada Special Sports has been created to “Fill the Void” between the equipment needs of special athletes and their chosen sport. We aim to help as many athletes as possible achieve their dreams of becoming a Special Olympic Athlete!
Offerings:
Bowling League at GSR on Mondays from 2-4. Bowlers come with a typical individual, such as a family member, friend, or caregiver. If this is not possible, they can be paired with another individual with special needs. Specialized equipment is provided when needed. Registration and financial assistance provided or other community events offered by Reno Adaptive or Sparks Leisure without Limits.
Participate:
You must be signed up with Special Olympics and have the physical and acceptance in place to begin participation.
You are welcome to come and observe in advance.
Notes and Tips:
This is league bowling, so ongoing participation is encouraged. All can compete in Special Olympics, regardless of bowling performance.
